Jürgen Becker

Jürgen Becker (†) engaged deeply with homeopathy already during his medical studies. His first experiences came as a student of Dr. Gerhard Köhler, one of Germany’s most distinguished homeopaths. Filled with curiosity and enthusiasm for this new path, Jürgen Becker devoted himself to the study of homeopathy and further developed it. Dr. Wolf Bergmann wrote in an obituary: Hardly any other homeopath has changed, advanced, and “shaken up” homeopathy in Germany and far beyond over the past 40 years as Jürgen Becker has. Physician, pioneer, door-opener, encourager, researcher, maverick, rebel, eternal seeker—these are a few of the honorary titles that may fit this exceptional homeopath. And: genius and loner—two sides that belonged to his polar nature, challenges that life placed before him.
“Carry it forward, but carry it forward truthfully.” With this provocative and bold transformation of Hahnemann’s strict injunction “Imitate it, but imitate it correctly,” Jürgen set the boundary markers of homeopathy—and his own—far into an open field.

With the title of his more than 1,000-page book New Worlds of Homeopathy and the Forces of Life (see excerpts below), Jürgen himself summed up the essence of his lifelong endeavor, his quest, and his discoveries.

On the path to finding a new access point and a new understanding of homeopathy, one decisive milestone was the Boll Homeopathy Weeks. In the 1980s and 1990s (1987–1992), multi-day training and research conferences took place in Bad Boll under the direction of Dr. Gerhardus Lang and Jürgen Becker. In these homeopathic group remedy provings, a new form of remedy research was established.

Even more far-reaching was Jürgen Becker’s step toward the C4 level of homeopathy and the use of the trituration resonance phenomenon as a comprehensive gateway to understanding remedies. C4 homeopathy is based on a deepened understanding of the fundamental mystery of homeopathy—the process of potentization.

What was new here was the distinction between succussion (a few seconds per step) and milk-sugar trituration (one hour per step). The hand-trituration with milk sugar (which Hahnemann prescribed at the end of the first volume of Chronic Diseases for all substances) reveals—demonstrated by the so-called resonance phenomena—the successive dimensions of remedy action:

• In the C1 trituration: bodily sensations
• In the C2 trituration: feelings
• In the C3 trituration: the mental-intellectual effect of the remedy
Further succussion to higher C potencies serves to intensify and refine these foundational levels.
A key discovery of C4 homeopathy lies in the fact that, in the C4 trituration, beyond the three known dimensions, the fourth trituration level—the spiritual dimension of human existence—is touched and clearly perceived in its healing quality.
In addition, Jürgen Becker explicitly referred in his new perspective on homeopathy to the so-called C4 Texts, which Witold Ehrler perceived and transmitted in a meditative state following a resonant C4 trituration. For Jürgen Becker, these were an important source of knowledge and a foundation for his research.

He also regarded C4 homeopathy as the foundation of a new worldview, one in which five miasms also have their place: Psora (the disease of deprivation), Sycosis (the disease of detachment), Syphilis (the disease of desire), Tuberculosis (the disease of decline), and Cancer (the false union of spirit and earth). Scripts on these subjects are also available for download.

With his research, Jürgen Becker entered uncharted territory. It was in his nature to devote himself to understanding what is (still) unexplained. Homeopathy—into which he poured his entire commitment and passion as a physician and researcher—offered him an immeasurable field. He threw himself into the exploration of the unknown and opened many doors, behind which there is still an immense amount left to discover for further research. His contributions, therefore, represent a beginning, and what he started can by no means be regarded as complete.

Bringing something fundamentally new into the world usually struggles to find people’s understanding and acceptance—for the foundations of thought and feeling themselves are called into question.

In the table below, selected sections from Jürgen Becker’s book New Worlds of Homeopathy and the Forces of Life, published in 2000, are available for download.
